Is there different levels to quality of paint?

With all things in life, there are multiple levels of quality. With paint there is no exception to this rule! Without giving my own personal opinion of brands. The quality of your paint will make a paint job last months to years or even decades. Using paint for its specific job is the only way to prevent problems or issues. Asking your paint contractor on what type of paint they use is a very important key to knowing how your money is being spent as they promise. Take Sherwin Williams for example, there is over 8 different variations of paint finishes for exterior paints and this doesn't include special products, primers and more available to contractors! In those 8 levels there is a basic builder grade all the way up to lifetime products. Costs can vary at over $60 per gallon from one product or another! How can you prevent this from happening to you? Speak with your paint contactor! Every type of exterior paint has a specific job and task to do. Your contractor should be full knowledable in where they purchase their products. If the products are coming from any where else but a paint store and I mean paint only store, more than likely your paint job is not going to last more than a few years. I have seen "bad paint jobs" by those so called affordable handyman painters cause a family to have to remove all the wood siding on a house and it cost them over $10,000! The contactor wasn't licensed nor insured so they had to foot the bill. Quality of paint matters as much as the application of paint process.
